Stupid Fucking Printers i tried to install an epson stylus c 42...it wudnt work...not with the cd that came with it or specific xp drivers from driver guide. I tried the same with an hp deskjet 3325...same again. so i just got back the only printer that ever worked on this computer....and it duznt. WHY? and how can i make it work?
my computer has 4 usb ports...tried all 3 in all 4. the cpomputer registers that the printer is ther, cos it says 'new hardware found' when i plug it in, but refuses to install them.
delete any old printers already installed. When u plug it into the usb device, have the CD in the drive, cancel any autorun screen that pops up - XP should then search the CD for the drivers. if that fails, cancel the 'add hardware wizard' and let the setup on the CD run. i've got a C62 that works on mine, running XP
nope...no exclamation marks i say it refuses to install, cos half way threw the set up it says 'sumthing or other can not be installed on this computer' or sumthing like that. and then set up shuts down. my computer worked perfectly in newcastle, u reakon sumthing happened to it when traveling to darlo? cos it cant be jsut that it had broadband now, cos we had it up in newcastle for a while adn it was perfectly fine nehow, got to go to work now ( ) but i b back 6 ish so ne advice that can b given b4 then wud b helpful
here: Epson Stylus C42 Printer Driver V5.3c Windows XP ftp://ftp.epson-europe.com/pub/drivers/inkjet/sc42/en/sc42_win2000_5.3c_en.exe and Status Monitor 3 Windows XP ftp://ftp.epson-europe.com/pub/drivers/inkjet/sc42/en/sc42_stm3_3.0c_en.exe Give em a try, make sure you have uninstalled all the other drivers, make sure the printer is disconnected, install both, re-connect printer... it then SHOULD work... if it doesnt - erm... :spangled:
