haha nah is it shite, but i've been given permission to do it whilst I'm at college It might be a while yet, gotta knock a few walls down etc lol
do you mean like proper sound proofing or just sticking stuff on the walls to reduce the volume a little?
I'm deciding on that fella, i want to be able to section off a bit of my room for recording instruments etc, so i'll probably need proper soundproofing.
There is a lot more, stuff like how the sound reflects off the walls etc I've given up on the idea anyways, it was only to section off a bit of the room for recoding music, but it would never be worth the money. cheers anyways though
well to sound proof properly you have to build a room inside a room, on stilt's to cut out vibration between rooms and its best not to be square or rectangular, to stop standing waves occuring, you also need to have one wall carpeted to absorb hi frequencies and one wall a hard surface to absorb the low frequencies. Then theres the doors to get into the room you need two one that opens in to the studio and another to open into the other room, if you just have one door all the sound will escape through it and the whole room inside a room would of been a waste of time.
