Strike and Riot! Glad they've started already this early on in the recession! anyone planning any unruly protest in the near future? i've already been invited to 2 via facebook fuck the law and all that chaps!
There was nearly one at work today after all of the contractors were told to accept a 12% pay cut or lose their jobs...
i was at work all yesterday when the whole RBS bank riot was going on, i was listning to radio one for the duration, and i couldent help but think 'isnt england fucking mint' hearing the bank window go through. the description was typically english though; "computer equipment was thrown through the window of the RBS building, including a printer!"
Why does that make England mint? They are complaining about the state of the country and the state of the banks and the environment and they have probably paid for their ticket to go "protest" using a creditcard from the people they despise, using loads of fuel to get there then smash the place up which means the government has to spend even more money that they didn't need to to clean everywhere up. Not to mention the fact that the cost of policing it all has cost an absolute fortune yet more tax payers cash down the drain all because of some idiots.
It makes about as much sense as toon supporters who smash up the town centre when we lose a derby match .... As much as i think that world politics in their current state are nothing but a fucking scam for putting the masses into eternal slavery on false pretenses, and that THEY are responsible for this god almighty mess we are in right now ..... that this is the EXACT thing they want us to do!!! Think about it - violent protests mean more laws to lock us up or force us not to protest in the first place (whether you believe in 'protests' or not is something else entirely) ..... The government is going to do NOTHING because a bunch of swampy types are getting their kicks and letting off some steam by smashing up their state owned banks. Mass civil disobedience on a massive scale is the way to go. We could instigate MASSIVE (and i mean MASSIVE) change if we decided not to go along with the joke that is our 'system' tomorrow. Not that it will EVER happen though.
Not everyone was there to protest about the environment and I don't think the money spent on repairing windows or policing protests are ever going to make any difference to us. At least people are trying to do something. We are controlled by a fascist government who operate under the false premise of a democracy, protected by a police force who generally display complete apathy and aggressive attitudes, in all kinds of situations. Protests are the only way that they could possibly listen but they are cut short, because the police violently attack people breaking down any unity they had, then box them in for fuck knows how many hours so that they think "shit, I'm not going to bother doing that again". Showing disdain to the protesters and calling it "pointless" is exactly where they want people to be, now everyone is reminded who's in charge. If everyone stood up, then there would be changes.
... One last thing. I was in central London last night and saw no evidence of any riots or ANY protestors - despite going through the square mile. Alot of it is media hype of a few 'hotspots' designed to make us feel like its fucking bedlam down here - which it aint.
dont be daft aaron, your just being soft I just thought it was good because it was an eventual sign that people are starting to have enough of all the bullshite that this country seems to feed it's inhabitants. hopefully a sign that people will hoy bricks at the establishment once again, to bring about change that only comes with such mass distubance. AND just to add, i'd rather have taxpayers money pay to control the angry mob than pay for huge expenses and porn stashes of MP's (Obv hasnt heard of redtube). Newswipe had Peter Oborne on a couple of days ago. and he outlined how MP's Leech on the state and how they are there primarly to make money for themselves - not to serve there constituancies. i know that Oborne is hugley biased and cynical, but i'd rather believe him than the tosh that the commons is spouting out these days. tbf - i think the media blew up the whole thing a shitload tho FUCKING ANARCHY! YES!
Its all a farce. This whole mess just sums up the system. The poor will always pay. Thats how the rich stay rich. I was at work the other day listening to the news, the first story was about how that cunt Goodwin would be getting that massive pension (which is coming from the tax payer)...then the next one was about how council tax will be going up again!! Great.
4000 odd protesters don't constitute a riot. I remember being part of the NUS marches in 2002/3, and there were 40,000 of us - I think we stretched out for about half a mile if that.
media hype things up - like the credit crunch rich stay rich poor pay the rich wheres robin hood when u need him eh ? i wouldnt say it was a riot like , compared to the medowell kick offs in the early 90's and the race wars years ago down the midlands way ( between non whites and non whites actualy )
[QUOTE Did you actually watch how the police handled it the other day? There were no 'violent attacks' by the police, you could see from the pictures that they were being as lenient as possible. Police have to get heavy handed when some moron is putting a window through during a so-called peaceful protest. There's no point in people protesting anyway, you only have to look back at the situation with the Iraq war to realise that.[/QUOTE] Not looking hard enough? https://london.indymedia.org.uk/videos/993 this is well offside
