    anyone know where the list of startup programs is located in XP? I don't mean the startup folder btw...

    I wouldn't reccomend fiddling with msconfig, it's not very user friendly! And I certainly would say to not directly edit the registry - the startup entries arn't just in Local Machine but also in Current User so you may miss some doing it that way (unless of course you go through the same folders in current user) - plus the descriptions arn't the most intuitive.

    THIS little tool is what you should use, far more user friendly than the other two options

    It puts a little icon in your control panel called "Startup"
