    St. George's Day

Probably been done before but can't be fucked to go back through all the threads.

What's people's thoughts - should it be a bank holiday?? Does seem odd that most of my english mates don't think twice about going on the piss for St Patricks Day but never consider it for St Georges.

For those who fancy supporting it vote below

I don't think it should be a bank holiday, but I do find it odd when English people celebrate St Patrick's but not St George's. Maybe because the Irish party harder than we do, and we just want to join in!

    What is Engishness?

Tetley bitter, meet & potato pies and a single red rose? What do you identify with Englishness.

    :D

Mark it better than it is now, no reason why it couldn't be a positive celebration like the other St's days.

Agree totally. Surely by making it more widespread you reclaim /prevent it from having racist connotations (though I'm sure some PC lot will be unhappy about it)

Be much better than the 'Brittish' Day Gordon Brown was proposing.

I dont need a day off work to remind me which country i was born in....St Patricks day is only celebrated massively because the Irish dont have a lot else to celebrate in their potatoe ridden drunken existance
