    Speakers

Right just bought some new mutts nuts speakers for my PC... plugged em in and they are working fine!

But they give out this annoying hissing sound when they're not doing anything ie. playing music. Obviously u cant hear it when the music is playing but when it stops its annoying as fuck!

Anything i can do about this? Or am i just gunna have to deal with it?!! :(

Go into the windows sound properties, (click on the little speaker icon) and mute line in :)

99.9% chance thats what it is :)

It's always been line in whenever I have had any hiss!

My mic ain't connected, and even when its turned right up, theres no hiss.

I spose if the mic is connected then it will hiss.

My line in is where the hiss comes from though. Has been on a few mates pc's too!

Just turn em both off when not in use :)

    that is pretty strange...

so you muted them all and you still get noise?

Is this when u have it totally turned up? Cos you will find that there is nearly always some noise at full blast :)

I had the same problem with my speakers when I first got them - apparently it was PSU instability, got a replacement and its fine now.

Note: my speakers were not shite at all :)

    Hissing speakers

Probably due to cheap non OFC non shielded cable. Try keeping your power lead well away from the speaker cable and or using better interconnects.

Maybe possibly turning up your "master" volume up and your spaekers down (I assume they are active (with their own amp)). This will stop your speakers labouring to amplify a "small" signal. If anyone has ever tryed to run a deck without a phono stage will understand that lush hiss you get from amplifying a very small signal.

    Hope this works!!!!
