SP2 Nightmate... Literally opened the XP Update page by accident, within 2 minutes, my windows xp was deactivated, WITHOUT installing anything what so ever! Had to go through safe mode, and then do a restore, (which failed twice!) to sort it! I think its alright now though...fingers crossed. What a bunch of wankers M$ are!! HOW DARE THEY DO THIS TO ME. Anybody for Linux??
It's not so much that, it's the fact that without my consent or knowledge something was downloaded and ran on my pc! I wouldn't be so bothered if it happened as a result of actually downloading SP2! Seems all well again now tho
Rob - :worship: I'm now SP2'd.....early indications show that Kazaa doesn't work anymore, and neither does style XP. Wonder what else I will find that doesnt work!

I agree that my pc was fine before but some of the added features are good. OE now blocks all images in a mail until you tell it to show them. This stops spammers using image requests as a way of tracking if your addy is in use. That alone is worth installing it imho. You also get a pop-up blocker, and an activ-x blocker. It amazes me how often the warnings come up even when browsing 'trustworthy' sites, no more tracker/spyware for me.
While those features are genuinely useful, and I'll have SP2 on my laptop no bother, it's still caused some major bother on my pc Think i'll wait til after Ibiza to sort it, and perhaps by then there will be an "SP2 ready" version of Windows on suprnova Edit: Spoke too soon......apparently SP2 cannot be installed on my laptop Bill
