Souness: Faye is a good player Graeme Souness has spoken out in support of Newcastle United midfielder Amdy Faye. The former Portsmouth man has been criticised by some sections of the St James' Park support but Souness is convinced the Toon faithful have yet to see the best of the Senegal international. With the manager himself under pressure from the fans, he has backed the £2 million signing to come good. "There seems to be a general feeling that Amdy Faye is not a very good football player," said Souness. "I felt he was the best player on the park [in the draw with Aston Villa] and, being a midfield player, I'm telling you Amdy Faye is a good player. "I wish people would understand that. "I do not think there are many midfield players who would enjoy playing against Amdy Faye." Faye, meanwhile, claims he has been less than fully fit due to an ankle injury so he has not been at his best.
I'm bemused, thats the only word i can think of using. Who in their right fucking mind would say he's good, i've never seen him play well yet, and when he's not making mistakes he may aswell not be on the pitch as he's never in the action, its as if he hides from the ball. Whilst im on about shit players, when the fuck are people gonna realise Ameobi is the biggest pile of shite on 2 legs aswell, i cant see how 52,000 supporters can see these 2 are shite, but the manager can't? tbh tho hes probably been told he's getting no cash and has to work with the shite he's got, and you can't go slagging your own players you have to try build their confidense levels up
so u cant see him! He did have an alright game on against Villa but I wouldnt go as far as saying he was the best on the pitch!

faye Lee Clark should be playing instead of that useless gimp. Clarky is much better, keeps the ball well, passes it well and sticks his foot in when needed. Also, he's black and white thorugh and through so you can expect nothing but 100% from him.
