    Sound problem

I've just come back onto my computer after being away for a few hours and there's no sound at all. Normally there's a little clicky type noise when I click on links etc but not anymore. Also when I try and play sound files I get this:

My sister has been on while I've been away - has she screwed something up?

Please note: I haven't restarted or anything yet because my computer takes ages to load and I can't be arsed.

Your sister has screwed summinck up.

1st: Check in Control Panel --> Sounds and Audio Devices that all settings are as they should be (ie set for your sound card) just to make sure

2nd: Go to http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...20-bfbb-4799-9908-d418cdeac197&displaylang=en and download DirectX 9.0c and install it.

If you're still getting the same problem after installing DirectX 9.0c, then you'll have to uninstall your soundcard drivers and re-install them. Check your soundcard manufacturers website to find out how to do that, and make sure the drivers are the latest version.

Funny how the 80070057 error only happens with winamp and aol radio, yet it's not their fault... hmm...
