sony vaio memory???

    sony vaio memory???

    can anyone help me out ??? I have just bought a sony vaio k415-b and was thinking of upgrading the hard disk space and the ram but not sure if you will have to buy special sony components???? if anyone has any info on what and where i can get it i would be greatfull.. cheers..:spangled: :confused: :spangled: :confused:

    That will be very pricey!! You will be looking at upgrading to 1024 mb RAM i presume.....I wouldnt bother, like I say, it will cost a bomb!!

    That machine already has 512mb RAM and a 40 gb hard disk which is more than enough. I am not aware of many laptops which come with more RAM than that as standard!

    Just a small point....whats the point of buying a laptop and wanting to upgrade it straight away??

    What do you want to do with it? For most things you have more than enough memory, it's a decent machine.

    Thats just stupid. Chris is spot on, you don't need any more.

    Windows XP doesn't tend to use that much anyway, my desk machine has half a gig in it and I've still yet to max that out.

    :D :D :D .. THANKS FOR THE INFO. SOMETIMES THINK THAT THE COMPUTER ISN,T RUNNING AS FAST AS I WOULD LIKE. AFTER USING A FRIENDS THAT HAS 1024MB DDR RAM AND 80GB HARD DRIVE.. THINK I WILL JUST LEAVE IT AS IT IS THO... CHEERS CHRIS :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap:

    it may be the processor mate, also I would check out the power management settings in your laptop, they slow right down when you're running on batteries.

    Also, read up http://netsquirrel.com/msconfig/ and have a look at the startup programs on your PC :)
