    Is that possible??
I thought you'd always get a bit of 'Smurf'in' if you crank the tempo up.

you coud play it in traktor DJ studio 2- that has key correct- lets you change the speed without the key- you can record it while it's playing

When it comes do decks....speed/tempo and pitch are often regarded as the same thing.

But...speed/tempo, obviously is how fast the track is, where pitch is about what key the track is in. You can make something faster without changing the actual, real pitch of the track.

No idea about software tho, try Traktor :p

It only lets you go about 6% without distortion on most tunes though. SOundforge is good but I just meant to use traktor for how straightforward it is if you don't use music software normally. it's not as good as soundforge but should give you about 20% without any distortion

    cool...

basically i will have the original music with a bpm of around 145-150 (but constant throughout) and need to change the whole thing to 2 copies, one at 140bpm and one at 160bpm...

so i will have 2 pieces of music that will sound similar (i'm hoping) but be at diff tempos... does this sound like it'd work?

an would i be able to do it easily on soundforge/acid pro/traktor?

CMSS player is the best player I know of for MP3s, does speed but not pitch, pitch but not speed, loads of good quality DSP, digital upmixing to 7.1, DVDA and down recording from any stream, good cataloguing and search features, etc.

It's the propriety creative player, got it with my Audigy 2, you will probs be able to DL it somewhere if you have a look.

The latest version of Traktor DJ Studio (2.5) has independant pitch and tempo controls.

You need a beefy CPU to be able to do it smoothly though.
