So Long Stereo.... So Long Stereo….. After eight long years as Newcastle first style bar, the birth of Hed Kandi as a clubbing event, the legendary pre-bar to Foundation as well as home to some of the best music led events the city has ever seen, Stereo will be closing it’s doors for the last time ever on Sunday the 28th of February. All good things must come to an end and despite a recent resurgence with events like the Block Party After Parties, Habit and Suono soldering on and filling the dance-floor, the time has come to close the doors on Stereo once and for all. Sad as we are to see our longest standing member of the Tokyo Industries family go, we are most certainly looking forward to going out on a high with what promises to be one of the best parties the place has ever seen and deserves nothing less. Ending on a truly fitting Sunday, doors open at midday until the end for a session which starts with lunch and ends with dancing on tables right through accompanied by pretty much every DJ who’s ever been resident there across an epic eight years, expect special guest appearances from old faces and new, see you at the front for one last time shouting ‘one more tune.’
Gutted. My first ever 'proper' night out clubbing, started one night at stereo, and i spent years going there before clubs and shit before that. R.I.P.
well, it's not gone yet, make sure you get down on the 28th...should be mega....http://www.facebook.com/#/event.php?eid=268401298950&ref=ts
Apparently it was going to become a boutique hotel when it was first scheduled to close, but it's lasted over a year longer than it was going to, so god knows if that's still the case
it's been rumoured to be closing for the last four years and in that time it's been 'becoming' pretty much everything from an office block to a zoo and a whole spectrum of things in between....most important thing here is to make sure you enjoy what it currently is on the 28th....
To be fair, it was Mellor who said that. Aye, I'll be there like. Who's actually playing? Is Hattie Lovehearts making an appearance?
had some immense nights in stereo like, but like the man says nee one has been going to the place consistently for years. RIP Stereo
I remember when ....hattie lovehearts was a hard house kid who used to hand out loveheart sweets at sundissential north in 1997. she asked me to let her know when sasha had turned up to the venue...I told her to listen for the wind and woosh noises on the huge breakdowns he would be playing. i cant quite get my head around how sasha played sundissential in 1997 geoff how old were you then...is she not old enough to be your mum???
I was 17 mate, "Raving" at Legends every monday and Planet Earth on a friday. (£1 a bottle on alcopops!)
there are currently 19 DJ's lined up to play, all regular ressies from opening night right across the board....first person to guess all 18 currently lined up gets a free bottle Vodka on arrival.....
