sleuth dissapointing and weird, went in with high expectations and sure enought it was quite good, for 30 mins, then went slightly weirder with the arrival of the copper, but again picked up only to fall flat on its are for the finale, if you have a cinema pass then the only thing you will waste is your time. decent acting from caine and law was ok and the chemisty was alright to start off with first half 7-10 second half 2-10 and fuck me its short at about 86 mins and im sure 10 mins will be the end credits we didnt see.
Went to see this last night like, was utterly dissapointed. it was art-house cinema posing to a mainstream audience IMO, i havent a clue what jude law was thinking when he took up the part. as has been mentioned the first part was ok, but yes the plot twist with the copper was rather un-due/random. too short as well, and it just ends unexpectedly. it's brought down the bar for british cinema, the fact that it's also one long strange dialog makes its hard to watch if you have a short attention span/are a lass, and caine's realistic but yet faux cockney accent is really annoying at times. if i could turn back time to see another film i would Johnathan woss wibble wating of 3/10 **to adam.** it turns out it was an adaption of a play - so your suspicions were correct
it was utter utter utter fucking shit. the worst film ive ever seen, bar none. jude law's a fucking shit actor, plays the charming cockney chap in the worst way possible. caine wasnt much better. it was an hour long conversational battle of wit set in a house that looks like it was designed by data from star trek. i'd rather have went to see fucking fred clause or ratatouille.. an hour and a half of my life im never goiung to get back. 0.5/10
I'm glad it was short. It was probs good as a play because it was just all about the battle of conversation between them both.
