SKY HD+ Box plus 2 mnths free packages, no contract no telephone required either

Looks like Skys fightback to Freesat has begun. Top of the range Pace SkyHD+ box and dish and fitting included

£195 - Tesco Extra Kingston Park

    Unreal price

Current users can buy this too (not supposed too tho) and use it as a main box move yr current Sky+ box to the bedroom

I want sky hd now that all the movies and sports are in hd but refuse to pay the the £100 for hte box plus £60 install.

Cant get this either as im not a new customer and would be upgrading the SD box to HD as dont have Sky plus so need the install.

    Gay as fuck.

I'd also upgrade the box to get the sata bit working and use it to ass an external drive to save all the films from the movies from thus eliminating the need for a blu ray player.

If you have sky plus can you just plug the HD box in then upgrade your subscription after the free trial?

If you have sky plus you can just buy a box and not pay for install and just get them to match your box and card to your account.

No point paying £200 for a box from tesco for the free trial when you dont need the install. just get one from elsewhere for cheaper.

Ive saw boxes go on fleebay for around that price with a new 750gig-1tb hard drive installed instead of the 300 gig one that comes with it.

No point in paying just slighty less for a illegally moded SECOND HAND box with voided warrenty and thats prone to crash when sky auto updates every month (updates designed to work with 160 boxs).

Id rather pay £195 for a fresh out of the box box!fully warrented (by one of the uks biggest retailers)

You still register your card to use with the box (by phone) so when the 2 months runs out you still get "freesat from sky" and the free HD channels

You only get a years warranty anyway and if you know where too look theres loads of support for sky boxes.

I'd rather have a modded box with a HDD that isn't going to be full after a few programs and link it to an external drive. Thus seeing out the need for a blu ray player as you can just save and copy all the hd films you like from Sky Movies HD :p

Im not 100% sure but i think that anything off sky movies etc is encrypted so if u try and copy it to an external drive you mite have a faff on trying to get codecs etc to play it !!

I've been researching it on AV Forums and it is possible, There's apparently a program called Copy+ that you put on the new internal HDD to enable you to copy things to the external drive and be played from it. :D

I'm pretty sure it even works with the stuff you get from the box office.

Something i'd love to do but just cant afford it at the moment but have been looking into that as well as Eurovox boxes etc due to boredom

Ive just got a dreambox like as well as my normal sky hd box, its got 4 inputs, 1 sky hd sat, 1 motorised sat and 2 cable , all running side by side of each other with a 1tb harddrive built in as well as an 8x dvd-rw , i can record 4 programs at once then burn them to dvd when im done , i can also attach an external hdd if i want to act as a multimedia centre ( or play movies / music off a usb pen ). So far ive got 9000 channels tuned in !

Canny bit of kit but rather pricey like

So say i get one of these boxes, use the 2 months then dont renew.

What would i get after that?

Freesat HD channels and the usual freebie sky stuff? And the SKY+ shit?

Our flat is plumbed in for Sky so was wondering if its worth upgrading our 30 quid freeview 'setup'.

just "Freesat From Sky" (slighty diff from Freesat) but importantly you get the HD free channels I watched the FA CUP all day today in HD..

If you dont get a minimal sub you box wont record either but the important thing is you get hooked up for digital HD, the dish and the box

    9.75 x 12 = £117 a year extra

Sky box with install etc = £64.99

add them together = £181.99 for a year of sky HD. we already pay what we pay for the normal sky with 3 extra boxes movies and sports so £10 a month for hd sports and movies is a bargain when the box is only costing £65 which when i ring and complain as we already have multiroom and can probs get £30 install waivered its a steal.

It's only not a bargain if you plan on getting rid of it or plan on getting rid of some of the channels you already subscribe too.
