Sky broadband speed Is there any way of optimising the speed of my Sky broadband? I've not long been moved in and just got it installed and it's slow as hell. I'm very close to the exchange and I know the previous owners' line speed was spot on so I don't see why it should be so slow... Any ideas?
try changing the filters right the way around the house. the sky engineer at my friend's house actually fitted the phone/Router connections in the wrong way around - make sure the filters in the wall sockets are being used properly. if they are, then replace all of them. they do age!
-dont use any extentions -filter all sockets, even if theyre not in use -use your ethernet when possible -if not, go into your router settings page (192.168.1.1 username: admin, passowrd: sky - in IE, and change the wifi signal)
