    SKy + and Adverts

    Does anyone have Sky plus?

I was just wondering if you can fast forward through the adverts when you record a program?

Would you do that if it was a normal feature on a TV?

    I think I would.

If I want to buy something ill go to a shop and buy it, I wont buy it coz some leggy supermodel says I should.

    bitch

Sky shouldn't be allowed to put adverts in their programmes seeing as it already costs £42 a month.

Think about it The amopunt thery shell out on the premiership exceeds what they make from subscriptions there real money is in advertisment and box office  so they cram as many adds in as possible !

    Re: SKy + and Adverts

This is what the fast forward key on your remote is for

Obviously though, you can only fast forward if you are watching a program that you have recorded.

Mythtv looks cool.. but I dunno where to start with it
Gonna investigate over the next couple of months..

Is it an actual OS in itself or could I use something like fedora core to run it on?

that's not the case at all mate.

in fact, of the current TV deal, sky pays £340million a season for the football rights and they generate £240million just from pub and club subscriptions. this means that sky only need £1.50 per month from its 5million subscribers to break into a profit.

adverts are just a side revenue stream.

well if you read my post you will see that i said they only need £1.50 per month from their 5million subscribers to break into a profit where the football rights are concerned.

subscriptions don;t obviously cost £1.50, they are a lot more so that's where they get the extra revenue for all those things you mention

    :dunce:

SKY+ is the dogs. Just pause the TV while you go to the shita. Rewind or pause them channels in the 920 to 905 range at the right time is a fooking winner as well:wink:
