I like boarding - Xscape snowdome in Castleford is about the best you will get around these parts. It's about an hour and a half away
I was up Glasgow the past few nights and there was an Xscape just opposite our travel-lodge. I definitely fancy going to one like it looks unreal
Aviremore up in scotland is supposed to be really good, and they sometimes do weekends on the cheap. not exactly local thought lol http://www.visitaviemore.co.uk/
if there is lots of snow in the resorts aviemore, anochmore, glen coe & glen shee are all great to places to go.
Dry slope at Silksworth in Sunderland which is fine to learn the basic on but shit once youve actually been up a mountain 3 Valleys in France is the biggest connected resort in the world (i think). Been twice now. Best holiday/hobby you'll ever do. SNOWBOARD & BINDINGS FOR SALE HERE http://nucastle.co.uk/showthread.php?threadid=74992http://
Used to go here quite a lot when I lived up that way http://www.lecht.co.uk/summer/summer4.cfm some of the black runs are absolutely lethal Xscape in Glasgow is good..think we paid £30 for an hour but that included all the gear etc. If your not very good then you can get lessons for free but they really are for beginners
the dry slopes really hurt if you fall down & they're not as fluent as real snow. every where has it's advantages & dis-advantages...try to find a cheap last minute deal if you fancy going abroad
Don't fuck around with artificial slopes - you won't learn anything in a day and who wants to be on a slag heap in castleford when you can be in the mountains. Book a week off and head for the real pistes. You'll love it
Castleford is not a dry slope....xscape parks use real snow Somewhat cheaper than france if you just fancy an hour on the slopes
