you should try going to school next to fields of sheep, in the spring all you want to do is throttle the noisy bastards

    Re: Shocking

That is absolutely shocking. If I had my way I'd make them sit round telling stories about what they'd done in the day and if there was anything they'd learnt. I'd then make them say a prayer before dinner and we'd have a family night round the table telling jokes and singing hymns.

i find it hard to believe - but if it's true thats awful.

i remember getting chucked out of White House Farm near morpeth for trying to climb 'Goat Mountain' ( a big wodden adventure structure for goats to climb)

that was 2 weeks ago - this big cnut had nicked my sunglasses

 Not quite that far, but I'm a firm believer in the family meal and the role it plays in the development of children

    :wtf: :spangled:

Aaron has just been to the beach the other week with his school. He's been taken to pretty much every museum, park, castle, farm you could think of. At least those parents don't have to worry about running out of places to visit:lol:

Obviously it's pretty shocking, but some of the parents just can't afford to take kids anywhere(I know the beach is free), or there parents may be ill, disabled, etc.

i dont believe that a 4 year old wouldnt know which animals were which anyway

from what i remember, early education is pretty much based on stories where the characters themselves are animals!

plus kids tv etc etc....it's bollocks IMO!

I have a friend who is a teacher and was always coming out with stories like that. The desperate ways some kids are brought up is just awful. One kid had his mother leave home for another bloke and the father just couldn't cope and one day he just didn't turn up to pick the kid up from school and he had just done a runner too. The poor kid had no other relatives and so was taken into what's laughingly known as care. Imagine that if you are 8.

When you laugh at chavs its often the kids who are just brought up in poor families. there but for the grace of god go any of us really.
I talked to a class of kids on the meadowell back in the day and most of them had never been to newcastle. 40% had never even been off the estate. they were 8

The kid might of had some sort of illness or disability that's never been picked up on! It's quite feasible imo

It's enough to make you cry! It just goes to show how lucky we've been! The upbringing that most of us have had is something kids like these can only dream of. I suppose the only thing is they don't know any better, and will probably be quite content not going anywhere, etc:( :( :(

But they see it on the tv all the time...... ads for stuff they can't have, lifestyles of the rich and famous.......... it amazes me that they don't riot in the streets and mug the rich at every opportunity (oh hang on....)
