Depends what type of night out you want mate.

If im in a fine music mood, ill goto promise, if i wanna Lager-Lads night with my mates, ill goto Quayside then Sea, posh mood ill goto Tiger Tiger.

If you limit yourself to one taste then u run the risk of losing ur social life!

Birmingham's only £20 and 3hrs away by train! Sundis is 5mins walk from New Street! I'm off down 14th Dec, can't wait! For trance, same applies for Gods on a friday...

    Or

Leeds is only £10 by train, you got loads on down there. Leeds is well worth a trip.

Agreed though, Newcastle is soooooo sh!te for clubbing it's unbelievable!

The thing is, when people try to put on other nights, no-one comes! You need a certain amount of people paying to make a night viable, and no matter how much everyone moans that the nightlife is shit up here, if you don't go to the clubs when they are on how the hell do you expect them to keep running?

Unfortunately the vast majority of clubbers up here will only go to established nights with expensive DJs on. You are asking for hard house etc, but if Sundissential can't make it work up here, how do you expect anyone else to? I know, because I've tried. If you think the kind of night you want to go to would be viable, why don't you put it on yourself instead of complaining that no-one else is?

If you don't like trance or cheesy music, you're pretty much fooked. Glad there's places like Sunday Trading etc to cater for more diverse musical tastes.:)

All good points. I just don't think there's enough interest in HH up here to make such a big event like Sundis work. North works as it's not too far for people to travel to from either up here or the midlands, plus Evolution is a fantastic venue, something we are sorely missing up in Newcastle. Perhaps if a HH night opened in a smaller venue, it may work.

yip very very true... nights like solid etc are gr8.. but the turnout is less than brilliant... nites like that draw the same 20-40 people everyweek and a clubnite cant run on that....

taking ur advice i am starting my own nite.. an illegal nite in the dump across the road from promise ;)

No, I agree, but I'm still glad it's there! If it wasn't, I think I'd be travelling the country clubbing more, there's very little else that appeals to me up here.

I'm away at least once a month now, usually to Brum for Sundis or Leeds for Base/North.

Word up, if i wont the lottery i d pay for all u lots, plus a few other "northern clubbers " to come down and have a night in London! (Probs be hard house  but we have trance as well:)) The music in London IMO is unbeatable when we have the likes of K90, Phil Reynolds, BK, Stimulants, James Lawon, Justin Bourne, Steve Hill, Steve Blake, Tara Reynolds, Lab 4, Ed Real, Ian M, Nick Sentience, Andy Farley, Tom Harding, Simon Eve, and loadsa other quality djs sometimes twice a weekend playing big nights throughout the capital! Just the crowd is not as good as up north, most the crowd we get are Aussies n Kiwis and they cant dance for shit, and dress crap! What i would love is the southern hard house sound with a northern crowd!

Some chick came up to me the other night, and goes "u been clubbin up north?" i go "why s that?" she goes "cos u can dance!" but its true... London cannot dance, they re well up for it, but need lessons lol

London has been pretty slow on the uptake regarding hard house though - it is only relatively recently that you will get any in sizeable clubs (other than Trade and a few noteable exceptions). They seem to be making up for the delay though!

aye its all them mad foreigners who love it so much thats caused the explosion... now the scene is unreal:)

Trance is pickin up as well:D but also the licencing laws help loads to, the fact there are very few restraints on when a club can close, the abundance of large venues, the money people are willing to pay for tickets, etc.etc.

im gonna miss the hard dance/house scene of London when i move back to Newcastle!

You talk about HH and trance nights in Newcastle, but what about House nights.

The problem with Newcastle is that people are unreceptive to new ideas.

You can look at a certain big night's flyers and every month is the same DJ's yet it is the most successful night in Newcastle and they dont take any risks with there line up!
