    Shindig

Maybe it's just me but Shindig just isn't the same any more.

Went to see Tim Deluxe last night, was expecting it to be rammed. Last time I saw him was at Foundation and it's probably my most memorable Shindig night....

I think that it was better at Foundation!

Every time i've been over the last few months it just hasn't been the same or as busy as it once was (perhaps it's just the nights I go on like!), last night by 2am it was pretty dead apart from on the dance floor, upstairs was closed. Atmosphere wasn't really there :(

    Thoughts?

Very few students around at the moment, and lots of people can't be arsed to go out after easter weekend last week...

Digital seems to have bought a different crowd to shindig along with the ususal shindig hardcore... which IMO is definately a good thing...

Nah, forgot to get my form back in on time.... :bang:

Oh well next year maybe... I doubt they'll still have a free slot a week late

Agreed with Andy about the back room though... Compared to the back room at foundation its a hell of a lot better.

Some good points about last night there mind.

The best night i've had there was Oscar G, was absolutley rocking.

But I still think that Foundation had the better vibe etc etc

Foundation would be a close match for Digital if the owners ever spent any money on it's upkeep.

    Dark and industrial

sandwiched between a 4 day easter bank holiday piss up weekend and Deep Dish/Joey Negro next week on ANOTHER Bank Holiday weekend .. and no students around it was always going to be a struggle...

I wish some people would just move on... the same was said by the regulars when Riverside turned into Foundation.. but after a year or two the new school took over...

Maybe as Rob said above... if the owners of Foundation had kept putting their hands in their pockets to pay for up keep of lighting/sound system and venue in general then Digital might not have even happened!!..

But it has.. and I for one am happy to be working in a club where the owners are quite happy to splash the cash on the venue...

Too much attitude in Digital. Too many wankers have decided to go. I know it's not exactly everywhere, but it is there and that's enough to give a bad impression.

I/people I know have came across quite a bit of trouble in there.

to be fair people said that when riverside became foundation

i like digital, having a proper room 2 where they can let more underground djs play to smaller crowds is really good, and the atmosphere at farina was just as good as any of the shindigs i went to at foundation (maybe not at riverside things were pretty wild back then)

my only suggestion would be to somehow break the downstairs into a bar and main room, wall off the bar bit at the back and have it as a chill out bit or do summik with those booths near the toilets into a seating area or summik
cos unless you've got a vip wristband there's really nowhere for normal punters to chill and escape the full on 4/4 between visits to the dancefloor and reckon that may be why the club can end up emptier than it would be by 3am
