Leaving no time to breathe Shindig is back..As promised we have transformed our Saturday’s into something new entirely.

On Saturday 22nd August Shindig lands in the city’s friendliest venue for a series of events designed to bring you flashbacks to our beginnings. Standing proud of a reputable 17 years cultivating club land Shindig has trodden its own path from the old World Headquarters: where it all began in the 90’s. Now we bring the past to the future as we settle into selected Saturdays at WHQ..

Over the coming months expect a showcase of the most exciting guests that could ever play within WHQ’s intimate walls, boxing an uncompromising Shindig vibe together with a genuine subculture that is cultivated not bought…

Kicking things off, we feel is the perfect guest to give a taste of the past, present and future all rolled into one… As one of the finest DJs and producers of 21st Century house; Dennis Ferrer has a career that brings him respect from two different schools -- both the old house heads and a new school; that devotedly follow his moves on the Objektivity imprint - a cutting-edge label in touch with its time, putting a uniquely American spin on the deep house revival. Just as the dance music world was heading into a cavern of soullessness, Ferrer was there… throwing back to his techno roots, producing the outstanding ‘Son of Raw’, ‘Church Lady’, and the appropriately titled ‘Underground Is My Home’.

Like Shindig, Ferrer is still standing firm, setting dancefloor moments for years to come.. "What appeared to be the end...may just have been the beginning.."

we don't have a set week.. just whichever week we want to do something that fits in with WHQ's schedule..

Regular events are so 2 years ago, all about keeping the punter on their toes in 2009

Ferrer blasting diva vocals/saxs/boshing snare drums in that dark room should go absolutely off

Has Ferrer ever played the 'Dig before? Can't remember if he has or not?

Anyone who's been to the Easter Soiree's or Tweakin' over the years will know that it's a good move for both parties. Less restraints on the booking side as you can now choose the dj's that appeal to yourselves and the real Shindig crowd and not just the massive (expensive) names that pull the "one off" crowd in every now and again.

Looking forward to Ferrer. And if the future bookings away from Digital are half as good we're all in for some massive treats.

Dennis knocked my socks of in Miami. I love his techyness and his selection of vests.

Biggest name to play Newcastle for a while and its in the most awkward club in the city

I've been chasing a Ferrer booking for over a year now so I'm glad we finally have him tied down.

Seen him a few times at Southport weekender and he's never failed to impress.
