SHINDIG: The Terrace Bar All new ideas need space to develop.. and since our move to Digital, weʼve been searching for that personal patch of the club where we can stretch our musical policy to the distant corners of dance music. Shaping Shindigʼs ever-changing face we celebrate 17 years in club land inviting you to join us in our new Terrace Bar. Bringing together a unique balance of original artists, quality underground Dj;s and label parties, the intimately darkened Terrace Bar with added sound and décor will delicately offset the main room as the perfect little dancing den to entertain new faces, old friends and future revellers. Although inevitably the majority of the crowd besiege the main roomʼs dance floor to see the headlining act, the little space with the big sound system aims to serve up a fusion of eclectic beats, underground house and social sounds to a loyal following of nightcrawlers. We all love a good small party, encouraged along by great music in a space where you feel like your in tune with the beats, so as Danny Howells & Shlomi Aber take care of the main room celebrations, our 17th Birthday sees the disco and funk infused Crazy P wet your appetite with the atmosphere of whatʼs to come. Working with the feel of the room and interacting with the crowd, some of the best parties in Newcastle have indeed taken place inside four small walls so expect a wide musical range with a host of other top-notch DJs to follow including Vincenzo, Versatile's I:Cube, and Bearweasel (8 Bit / Tsuba) as well as Will Saulʼs Simple Records bi-monthly residency kicking off with Germanyʼs Motorcitysoul. Synonymous with Shindigʼs peerless blend of exciting new guests, local talent and extended resident sets the Terrace Bar will introduce some lesser known DJs and Labels, carefully programmed with a distinct club vibe and welcoming attitude each and every Saturday. Noticed C-Rock on the cocoon line-ups for the summer last night, was rackin my brains tryin to remember who it was
Just watched a video of Robert Babicz @ Cocoon in Rotterdam and its unreal! It'll definitely keep prog fans happy. If he plays like this and Ripperton lives up to expectation itll be an amazing night! Check it out...13 mins in http://www.dancetrippin.tv/
http://www.shindiguk.com/blog/2009/05/08/the-terrace-bar-motorcitysou-interviewl/ nice interview with C Rock from MotorCitySoul which Neil done.. touches on his productions and cocoon connections.. looking forward to this, as it was good in terrace bar on sat for riff raff
since when did shindig book people like Nick curly? Hes more to my taste but defiantly not shindig booking. Hes the type of booking the likes of klickklack, balance, jaunt, cleer etc get on, not shindig! Looks to me like shindig are changing booking and trying to follow the techno trend of the other nights in town?
