Shindig 15 @ Digital - help us out please and win some tickets As most of you will know we have our 15th Birthday celebrations coming up very soon with events at Digital and Baltic Square on Bank Holiday Sundays 6th and 27th of May.. DJ magazine are running a piece on it all.. but they are asking us for 15 short paragraphs of our "15 glorious moments in the history of Shindig".. .. they can be funny or factual... Mine and Scotts memories are crap at the best of times (years of late nights lol).. and although I can think of a lot of "moments" most of them I think are just special to me.. and maybe not the people who have partied in the club which is more important!!.. Tim Deluxe Falling Off The Stage and blaggin our way into the Malmaison and ending up sitting proper fucked in a trench coat drinking long island tea's with thease toffs tellin em they just missed the night of there life
yeah... tim deluxe finding a bike backstage at the first Shindig Baltic Square party and proceeding to wobble across the stage before faceplanting off the 6 foot high stage and knocking himself out cold... classic *guess which muppet was on safety officer duty that day...
I remember the last Shindig @ Foundation before the move to Digital. Not long before closing (I think) the fire alarms started to sound, possibly due to the sheer heat from everyone who'd be dancing since the place opened, yet at every opportunity the dj kept slamming back in the tracks and in no way wanted to let this ruin the end of an era! Two of my mates had gone to stand outside to get some fresh air expecting to be able to walk straight back in. I remember trying to decipher the phone call I got asking us to "come outside and meet them as they weren't allowed back in" - not a chance. There right 'til the end
I also remember (just) walking back to Foundation from Shindig at the Baltic a few years back. My lass was texting - the usual "where are you, when will you be home" and the obvious "have you been good" next thing I know, I'm on my fucking arse. Walked straight into a lampost and just about knocked myself out! Although I really should've gone for stitches, I still ended up at the afterparty. I still have my "Shindig scar" today. I also managed to provide a little entertainment for my mates in the process
When Scott completely cocked up a mix (Sasha circa 2003). It was so hot and sweaty that apparently he couldn't grip the records properly. Everyone cheered in appreciation of how hot it was!
ha i remember that my big fat fingers were all sweaty and they just stuck to the records...most embarrasing
i have one at the dig on nye a memeber of the board was a vicitm of assualt........... in the midst of his rave someone threw a shoe at him poor lad proper ruined his night never the less we all carried on this tradition and throw shoes at him at afters just to keep the memory going ha ha ha ha
