    Setting up Xbox Live

Reet I tried to do this for a mate last night but could I hellas get the thing working....

He's got a pc with broadband/usb modem and ethernet card, he bought the cable, so thats plugged into the ethernet card and tother in xbox.

I setup ICS on the pc thats all good, so it came to manualy putting in the IP/Gateway addresses on the xbox.

I run IPconfig to get all the addresses and it lists details of the internet connection and the ethernet card.

Does the gateway want to be the ethernet card or the actual internet connection?

Also will i require the MAC address it says it aint always needed?

The xbox trouble shooter was inconsistent some times it came up no connection found other times it said it couldnt access the gateway...:spangled:

Have read numerous guides on net and tried different configs no avail..... anyone?

Edit.. whats the difference between a crossover cable and a standard ethernet cable? It appears this could be an issue as i think he's using a a bog standard blue ethernet one and the original xbox not compatible with this?
