    Services

My MSN is running slow as fuck when I'm transferring files, will adding it to the services list with torrents and limewire in my connections advanced settings make it any faster? and if so, how do I do this?

I've got a 2mb connection and a pretty fast machine..

Adding it to the services list should make it run slightly quicker - I've had the same problem in the past and this seemed to resolve it.

thought I'd sorted it but its still being a pain in the arse..

I've looked in the services list for my router to add it, but nothing looking like it could be MSN is on there, any ideas?

you'll have to set it up manually, find out which ports msn is using and unblock them

yep I had same prob when I installed a router. MSN worked fine but transferring files was slow as hell.

You need to open the following:

    Ports 6891-6900 enable File send,
Port 6901 is for voice communications
Allows Voice, PC to Phone, Messages, and Full File transfer capabilities.

    IN TCP 6891 - 6900
    IN TCP 1863
    IN UDP 1863
    IN UDP 5190
    IN UDP 6901
    IN TCP 6901

Either that or enable UPnP between your PC & router.
