But...there isnt even that much running?

Currently doing an outlook archive, there is a few word docs open and another program.

I reccommended a RAM upgrade but my boss has dismissed it!!

Done spyware scan, virus etc, all clean

Ive never seen a red line like thar before. Is it win2k pro?

Id say some app has crashed and is eating the proc. look at the proc list, order by useage and you will be able to see what is kicking the computers arse.

Chuckle, is it a P4 with Hyperthreading or a dual-cpu machine?

I've worked out what the red line is.

Go to "View" and uncheck "Show Kernel Times"

All it's doing is highlighting how much processor time the kernel is using in red.
