Senny HD25 spares Anyone know where to get decent priced spares for HD25's ??? My headphone cable needs replacing (dodgy connection at the plug means im only getting one channel) and after looking at a few websites they are wanting absolutely silly money for replacement cables - 25 quid or something for a cable with a 3.5 inch plug at one end and a few connectors at the other. Anyone know any places doing generic/3rd party spares for senheissers?
the sennheiser connector where it plugs into the headphones is smaller, from what i can remember, than a standard 3.5mm jack HTFR does them - but they ain't cheap even try ebay
yeah - it comes with an adapter .... with the prices they are asking for, i think it might be time to just DIY it for the time being. Soldering time.
http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/?page=shop/manufacturer&manufacturer_id=408 its not listed there but give them a bell, they are the dons of electronic gear
Cheers si - those guys want 15 quid for the cables, which i suppose is better than 25 .... but still way too expensive in my book. Might have to see about ordering some, if my DIY'ing goes to pot.
I'd sooner spend £15 than fuck around cutting off the jack, getting a new one, soldering it on, and then being left with some home-made, bob-a-job looking cans.
fuck that! should see my MDV R's! i've stuck on a new 1/4" gold plated jack after the other one got bent, the notorious problem with the sonys is the weak point where the cups pivot, so i've got cable ties keeping them shut, with super-glu makign sure they don't move AND one of the ear cups are the material wearing away! they're my babies and still do the job!
Just plugged my HD 25's into my ipod and the cable is perfectly fine. It was the bastard adapter plug to blame after all - when i thought there was a bad connection in the angle in the cable, all it was doing was moving the bad connection between the jack and the adapter. Saved myself 25 quid there - just need to tax an adapter from somewhere. Phew. To think i had the soldering iron and scissors ready to go - i would have knacked a 100% perfect cable
my jack got snapped off so now they dont work, i have jusy bought a new pair though from sapphires, gonna leave it a week then use the new reciept ive got and get a replacement fromt he broken pair
so you'll have 2 GOOD pairs huh..... hhmm..... hint hint... had lots of good technical advice from here?
nah well it some1 i work with, he broke his technics ones, and wanted to replace em with the sennheisers, so he was borrowing mine for a bit, but then broke me, he was gonnar replace em, but i thought doing it my way wud make it cheaper
