Sending Decks through the post Anyone able to advise on the best way to do this, bearing in mind i dont have the original boxes? Anywhere you know sell bubble wrap? Who's the best service to go with? etc Cheers
funny you should ask, thers a giant warehouse type building as your leaving newcastle centre from the bottom end that has a giant banner saying "we sell bubble wrap" on the side. its jsut after the century fm building
online is probably best for bubble wrap, or a big stationary shop, like 'staples' at the metro centre - but it's not cheap. any old boxes will do - TONS of brown tape to seal it, black marker pen with THIS WAY UP and FRAGILE plastered all over will give them the hint. bought any new equipment recently? polystyrene from tellys and stuff like that is good - break it up so it fits. CityLink is cheap but reliable. Make sure u get recipts and tell them what you're posting - that way u always have a come back. it should be about £20 postage
Re: Sending Decks through the post I sent mine to Brummie wrapped in layers of bubble wrap but i had the original boxes!
there's parcel tape, brown paper and bubble wrap at the post office - u can wrap it there - but you'll pay thru the nose for the stuff [tight] i always keep the packaging of stuff i have delivered and stuff arriving at the office, boxes, foam packing, jiffy bags, etc - always comes in useful! [/tight]
Is it much more expensive posting somthing like this through the post office than someone like Parceline or other proper couriers
Take the carts and platter off and wrap them separately, pqck them carefully and box them up, it might cost a little bit more than you expected to do this, but at the end of the day, it's better than them turning up fucked, and having to refund the person you've sold to, and then sort out getting them fixed, and sorting getting the money back from the courier, which they might not give you anyway if they weren't packed properly etc - it's a right fuck on! Pete has a car, yes? In the Team Valley trading estate is the DHL depot, they will be much cheaper than using Royal mail parcelline, or parcelforce, for that sort of weight. If you go on the dhl website it has the address and a map If you know anyone that uses couriers everyday, you may be able to get them to send them instead, be easier than going out to team valley anyway....
