    Selling Vinyl

After selling my decks a month or two back, im now contemplating selling my vinyl as i no longer have decks to play them on and havent mixed vinyl in over a year, and can quite easily transfer any that i would like to keep onto cd before selling.

Has anyone sold any vinyl and whats the best way to do it? I couldnt be arsed with selling them individually on ebay, i know quite a few are worth a fair bit individually though i would be left with a great deal that arent, and probably couldnt sell on their own, as well as it being a total fuck on doing it that way.

Do places like HTFR still buy vinyl in bulk? Do they pay good coin for them? Probs got about 800ish at a guess, mainly prog & trance with bits of house, techno etc too.

I'm thinking of selling mine on ebay but in packs of 5, just grouping similar stuff together or producers together. Not really bothered about getting much money for them just dont wanna chuck them away

I think i would try and sell them in bulk first of all, to see if somewhere will give me something like £1 a record for the full lot, otherwise i might have to look at ebay/discogs etc.

Want a quick easy sale ideally, though at the same time wont sell them unless its worth my while as dont want to get robbed for a collection that it took me the thick end of 10 years to get together.

I dont think htfr will give you £1 a record mate. Probably best of listing them on discogs first if your not in a hurry especially rarer sought after ones

I dunno if it got re-released Marty, I've got a copy of the Wonderboy release with the green sleeve which I havent even played except from burning it to CD. I got it off Ebay years ago.

If you cant be arsed listing it all on Ebay or Discogs then take it down to Beatdown Records and they might take it off your hands, probably only get 50p - £1 per record but atleast theyre gone.

But you shouldnt sell your record collection, must have a few memories attached to it non?

Plus youll be a much cooler dad/uncle if you can show off 500 records rather than 10,000 computer files.

I've got an original original copy of this in the blue/green coloured sleeve from first time round, I forget the label now but it's a definite trance gem! - I really can't believe when people sell their entire record collection  . I bought my mates full collection of about 700 tunes last year when he hung up the headphones for good. He was going to sell them one by one but I couldn't see them split up so just had to have the lot! I've got something ridiculous like 3500 vinyls but would never part with them in a million years, not for any amount of money.

The wonderboy release was '98, I'm talking about the '95 release on German Urban in a dark blue/orange cover I have with the Westbam pic on the front, Still can't touch the original mix for me like...

beatdown records should take them of your hands i took about 60 trance tunes there and i think he offered 20/ quid cash or a higher exchange for new records on the shelves which was'nt to bad i bagged 35 quids worth of techno all in all about 6 tunes which seems shit compared to 60 records but i can't gewt away with mixing trance anymore and they were just lying collecting dust and was glad to see the back of them :)
