Savage and Boa Morte have recently signed new deals......... Both look very likely to be moving!

top class. as pointed out prone to at leats one howler a season though.

he's as good as if not better than niemi, robinson, given. not a world beater, but easily one of the best in the premiership.

Its quality that hes signed a new contract, tho i'd like us to start bringing a young keeper through. Ross Turnbull has been looking a good prospect for a while now and hopefully he can make the step up soon

likewise, i wouldn't have robinson over schwarzer mate. ;)

although robinson will hopefully mature into a much better keeper, he looks by far the most likely candidate for the #1 england shirt.

i think carlo nash is not going to have his contract renewed, hopefully turnbull will be given a few years as his undestudy before taking over full time.

turnbull is different mate, has been representing england from a very early age. have seen him play for the reserves a few times and he looks very useful.

i expect big things from him in the future, possibly a bigger talent than downing in the long run.

seriously. i have never seen schwarzer play as well as he has this season. back to commanding his box, and coming off his line to deal with crosses like when he first came to the club.

he has always been an unbelievable shot stopper, case in point: saves he made to win us the carling up (even after one of his howlers where lesser men would of given up and crumbled!), and his kicking has gone from fucking awful to acceptable.

i think all the years of shocking coaching by robson have finally been undone by paul barron and he now has command of the box and back four, whereas before he simply pulled off brilliant saves but lacked the command of his area.

A Boro fan at my work doesnt rate Schwarzer at all. Is he stupid?

I dont see that much of Schwarzer, but i would have ranked him about 6th or 7th in the Prem. When this lad saw the news he said "arr bollocks, Schwarzer signed a new deal". I was quite suprised, but he insisted he was crap.

I think only Cech, Cudicini, Robinson, Niemi, Friedel and Given are better.

But still better than Robinson? Even with that, I wouldn't say he is. I can't remember Robinson making any sort of howler, or stupid mistake
