Liverpool midfielder Salif Diao would be interested in a move to Sunderland, according to his agent. The Senegal international is seeking a move away from Anfield after growing increasingly frustrated at his lack of first team opportunities. Diao spent the second half of last season on loan at Birmingham, but his stay at St Andrews was interrupted by a series of injuries which killed off any chance of a permanent move. Middlesbrough and Sunderland have been linked with Diao and the player's representative Charles Collymore admits the midfielder would consider a move to the Stadium of Light. "There have been stories, yes, but they haven't been translated into any direct interest in Diao from Sunderland as far as we are aware," Collymore told the Sunday Sun. "But Salif would certainly relish a move to the North East because of the passion for football in the area - and we wouldn't rule out a one-year loan deal if there was concrete interest from Sunderland. "As a big club with big support, Sunderland would certainly be the sort of club he'd be very interested in."
