    Safc 3 -1 Crewe

After a poor first half display Sunderland got there act together and played some good stuff in the second half to bury Crewe at the Sol.

The young lad Lawerence had a good home debut and Arca was again outstanding. Kyle played well and Stewart missed 3 chances one of them a sitter before slotting home the second goal.

    OPR Saturday another 3 points!

    HAWAY THE LADS!

Oh and by the way are the geordie pussys going to get over there sore eyes in time for the weekend? Or is it a ready made excuse for a pasting off the Boro! hahaha.

We were good in the 1st half!!!!

And good for most of the 2nd half as well.

    Pased the ball about well.

Lawrence looked class - spot on. Arca was good, but not the usual Julio, not by a long shot - gave the ball away quite a bit. But still looked decent as ever

Missed plenty of chances, should have had a penalty, their dissalowed goal was a good call, he was offside.

    Good result - deserved

He is so much better when he plays deeper, as he has much more of the pitch in front of him.

    second half Julio

id still like to see MM change the middle of midfield, give Thornton or the new lad Whitehead a decent chance. Whitley is good in the tackle but never looks for the ball when the defence is looking for an easy option.

Aye he was a lot better in 2nd half like - left back is where he shud stay

Whitley was shat - needs replacing - yeah chuck one of the new lads in - cant do any worse than whitley!!!

Was v impressive to watch on the whole tho - good result!

Yup....apparently his attitude isn't exactly great in training either! I know he is a class player but you can't pick someone who doesn't put in the effort really. Saying that, I can't stand the idea of Robinson and Whitley in the middle...something needs to change. Personally, I doubt Whitehead will be ready yet so I would be tempted to chuck Oster in the middle and play Lawrence on the right.

Whitehead may not be ready but a wud rather risk that than keep whitley in tbh.

A risk worth taking i wud say.

Oster in middle n Lawrence on right cud work too like

Think back to the start of last season when he played in the middle with Thirlwell, we looked good going forward and created loads of chances. Oster doesn't need to tackle that much in the middle (at this level anyway), thats what the grafter is for!

Exactly - i think he wud get more of a chance to shine.

He's a v creative player when he wants to be - tackling deffo a no-no, but dont need to be 1st class at tackling if u can spread ball about nicely.

    It cud work
