Roy Keane Now i know Newcastle sign some shit BUT Is he ever gonna give up the ghost of Man Utd / Ireland or some sort of connection? I can think of 8 players off the top of me head and feel free to add more as well if needs be or is it just coincidence and good business? Phil Bardlsley Kieron Richardson Jonny Evans Dwight Yorke Andy Cole Graham Cavanagh Ian Harte Andy Reid
Going by the results were getting lately then I'd say he's doing ok. 9 points from the last 6 games isn't bad for a nearly promoted club. especially when you compare that with the 1 point you's have gotten, then all in all it's looking good.
I agree though, some of the people he's signed are shite or just not worth there money. He's only been managing for year though.
Re: Roy Keane Phil Bardlsley - mint Kieron Richardson - mint Jonny Evans - mint Dwight Yorke - shit Andy Cole - shit Graham Kavanagh -solid championship player Ian Harte - shit Andy Reid - good player mcshame - was good... went shit the amount of shit in your newcastle squad is laughable, sid james park has a history of getting the very worst out of its players
Re: Re: Roy Keane i hope we get relegated together, then we can contiunue this for many more moons andy reid - obese
We were talking about this down at Liverpool actually, trying to name players Keane has signed who he hasnt either played with, are ex Man Utd or irish Not that im really bothered by it, for me he could sign gorillas from the rainforests of arizona if he thought they would do a job for the club. Yous are right about Nyron - total liability and not anywhere near Premiership standard. His attempted Cruyff turns and trying to beat attackers almost makes my heart stop everytime he does it. JUST CLEAR THE FUCKING BALL!! Hes the best of a bad bunch out of him and Mcshane, Higginbotham could be better IMO when playing in a stronger defence, alongside Evans, Bardsley and Collins.
He has mate, though take into account in spending that £50 million in todays inflated transfer market, he has taken the club from 23rd in the championship to 16th in the Premiership. RK =
jones and gordon are decent players. good championship, and average premiership - but its the amount of £££ he spent of them that is the dodgy bit. £5million for chopra was a poor move too. newcastle and indeed boro's spending this summer/ january has also been shite, dark days for north east football dont see why so much fuss was kicked up bout keegan not buying in Jan, there was clearly no one available who was up to standard to he didnt buy on impulse, fair play to him for that.
Keane's burgeoning Wearside branch of the Old Trafford old boys' association currently consists of eight former Manchester United players and five members of the coaching staff.
The ironic thing is, Keane slagged off the likes of Miller and Richardson when he was still at Man Utd, saying they weren't good enough. Funny how they're good enough for Sunderland.
Well yeah, that's true- it just seems strange that he'd want to sign players that he's openly admitted in the past are shit.
To be fair to Chopra though, he has played more games on the wing than he has up front for Sunderland. Im a Chopra fan personally - we have a lot worse players at the club. Always gives 110% and the fans appreciate that, has done fairly well in a lot of games too while being used largely out of position.
Is the right answer. They may not be Man Utd class (along with Bardsley, Evans) though are big players for us.
I asked a Sunderland Season Ticket holder at work to compile me a list with him thinking it was a test and he got 13 or 14 which is in the house, will put them up later Its actually now a canny quiz test for football fans.
