    Rooney

    was his kick intentional?

i was listening to the commentators saying how stupid a reaction it was for him to do that when i do that myself week in week out at football...

occasionally someone holds on to you and you thrust backwards and sometimes catch them hard...its accidental and i've had it done to me loads an all, its not intentional and the replays werent conclusive either way so rooney gets the benifit of the doubt from me.

It looked accidental to me, however I think it was more likely that he was sent off for his shove on ronaldo, the stamping incident would have probably only earned him a yellow.

Thing is that you can't really tell given his suspect temperament. He may have done it deliberately, and if he had it wouldn't surprise me. The kids got talent but temperament wise he's too much of a loose cannon.

no, im not a professional football player because im not good enough.

however being someone who takes people on i get dragged, pulled and pushed a lot and sometimes you have to 'fight' free... you dont mean to hurt anyone but it happens and its not intentional... rooneys kick looked like what i see all the time.

his push was stupid, but again if someone (especially someone who is a team mate) ran to a ref to get me into trouble i'd be slightly pissed off too.

yes it was wrong but there is no point hanging him, he has to learn and people forget he's still young.

Beckham was young in 98 but you still hung him for that. Simeone wound him up pre match as well as the whole game.

I think Ronaldo is getting it tight cause he plays here. Its an easy scapegoat when its clear who left the team in the shit.

    Re: Re: Re: Re: Rooney

and it was stupid what they did to beckham, i never agreed with that nonsense... the latin teams are far better at gamesmanship than us and know they can provoke a reaction... still it ruins the sport as a spectacle.

and the tabloids dont know it was intentional, im giving rooney the benefit of the doubt. i still think he can be a petulant tosser and im not too keen on parts of his temperament but a sending off was harsh.

even my scottish mate said he thought it was harsh
