    Rising damp?

The paint along the bottom of my walls in the kitchen and living room started peepling off a while ago. I've re decorated cos I was getting the house valued and a couple of days later what looks like a water mark started showing through the paint right around the bottom of the house.

I've tried to get the people who put the damp proof course to come out but they don't seem interested, even though it's got a 30 year guarantee.

Does anyone on here know anything about damp?

Or can anyone help with how to get the company who put the damp proof course in to do something?

The only the way they could get away with it is if you've had some external work, i.e. a new driveway or something, which has risen the ground level and bridged the damp proof coursing.

Otherwise, they are legally bound to fix the problem.

There's no external work been done.

I've been ringing them for weeks and they're not even getting someone who knows about stuff to ring me to discuss it never mind come out and have look. All I ever get is a woman who doesn't know anything

If your insured ring them theyll be able to advise you - doubt youll be able to claim if its over 30 years but if it isnt the loss adjusters will get involved il ask my boss see who we use
