right now i need some cd writing software..

Nero is fucking massive to download over my dongle, any smaller apps available or is it worth buying it off shelve from pc world or somwwhere

also iv seen discs where ppl have backedup several movies to one dvd? is this just due to shrinkage and cutting out stuff or down to a larger type of dvd ?

    cheers

Nah nah.. get DvdFab, this will let you rip a dvd to the hdd and if it's double layer, it will rip it as a single layer. It will also let you burn it all to a disk of your own :)

If you want loads on a disk, then you'll either have to compress the shit out of stuff or put it on as avi files as opposed to dvd format that will play on a standard dvd player. Dvdfab will convert ripped movies into much smaller avi files for you but you'll need a dvd player that will play divx/xvid, or to watch them on a pc.

Will this allow you to burn .avi files to dvd format too?

I've downloaded Che: Part One and evertime I convert it in DVDFlick then burn it to dvd using NTI CD/DVD maker it will only play on the small tv in the bedroom, not on the one in the living room.

Is there any other software available that's good for converting .avi to dvd if you can't in DVDFab?

can someone give me a step by step guide to doing this please (i want to direct copy dvds and also rip and shrink them to .avi files so i can put a couple of movies on 1 dvd disc) currently i am ripping using DVD Decrypter (in file mode?) them using DVD Shrink (not really sure what am doing with this but am ending up with a huge dir with the movie stored as .vob files...

    thanks in advance

dvdshrink gives u the folders/files ready for burning back to DVD in a DVD format - but the correct size to fit on a dvd-r

so, basically you're wanting to extract the MOVIE ONLY to an avi?

yeah, well i want to know how to do both, so once iv used Shrink do i then copy both folders (Video_TS & Audio_TS) onto the main dir of a dvd-r?

if you have nero installed, dvdshrink will burn it for you.

otherwise, get nero installed, go to DVD > new DVD Video - then drop the video_ts folder dvdshrink has created into the nero window

also looks like dvdfab will rip the dvd to a single file

I'm using Nero 9 now and it's working but, just like in DVDflick, there's a very slight stagger every second which is only really noticeable when the camera's panning across a room or landscape. What could cause this? Sound is faultless and in sync though.
