    rio picked ahead of sol??

Reports today are saying rio is in for a return to the heart of englands defence ahead of sol campbell !

Sven will never ever get over his favourites ferdidnand is still looking fo form you cant put him in based on a 70 minute decent performace for man u against chelsea sol has been quality in every game hes played this season yet erickson still puts his faith in a guy who looks like he couldnt give a toss this season !

    when will sven learn !

    Your thoughts ?

Id have Woodgate and Terry when Woodgates fit but hes not so i'd rather have Rio in than Sol.

I like to have 2 defenders who arent too similar at the back. I'd prefer Terry with someone who can defend with a bit of class, read the game well and step out of defence when needs be and is comfortable on the ball.

Ferdinand is piss poor this season, King would do a better job if fit.

agreed king would be the best bet hes in good form and better on the floor than campbell .

Ferdinand doesnt deserve a place on current form . Hel probs go and play a blinder now ave said that . hope he does but cant see i think hes been a liability all season !

Could be a good thing. If the Argie fowards make a mug out of Ferdinand it might push him down the pecking order for the World Cup.

Probably a more mudane reason like Campbell's crocked again, he's always injured these days.

Some of you forget just how good Ferdinand is, he's had a dip in form but on his day hes one of the best defenders in the world, he can tackle, read the game well, hes good in the air, he has pace and hes comfortable on the ball.

Sol Campbell has been good recently yes but how goods he been in the last 2 years? hes been crap for Arsenal remember before this season they were looking at replacing him.

Ferdinand was one of our best players at the 2002 world cup and probably would have been the same at Euro 2004 if he hadnt been suspended.

    Why?

When he didnt try other formations people complained. Fair enough i'll complain if we get beat but there is no harm at all in try out new tactics in friendly matches.....the 4-5-1 doesnt work so that can be scrapped but whos to say we wont find a formation that suits us alot better........3-5-2 for instance is well worth a try in my opinion.

We have 4 friendlys before the world cup to find our best team and formation so a bit of chopping and changing cant do us any harm now that we have actually qualified for the world cup......it was only a problem before we had qualified and when it was causing us to drop points in qualifiers.
