Okay I thought this issue was all over. But now my mind has been changed. After a hard day at work I only wanna chill have a pint then rock on at Promise,to see the legendary Kerry James.

Now when you walk up at around eleven o'clock and ask the doormen (*did they know that they're job descriptions reads...to greet cutomers with a smile and funnily enough open the door for you...doormen durrrr*)

Conversation that took place on fri night.

Me: What time do you last let customers in?
Doormen: That would be x'oclock.
Me: Sound we are off for a pint up the road then.
Doormen: Dont think that you two are getting in.
Me: And why is that ?
Doormen: You aren't smart enough for tonight!

Me: Then why three weeks ago did I arrive in the same outfit and get let in, and with my friend looking a touch scruffier as he had old trainers on that week aswell?

Write thats enough of the script but you get the point. Illiterate doormen that dont do their jobs correctly. So if all the cybers get let in *no offence - my friends cyber up all the time but I dont like it*under the Fridays best code - why did not I with a plain blue fcuk with no logo, levi moleskins and clean nike trainers.

So come on someone - dont delete this thread - give us an answer on what Fridays best actually means. Therefore it saves me travelling 35 miles to town only to be told, no, you scruffy t***s aren't getting in.

Ive seen people dressed in some truelly awful looking clothes that were so bad i wudnt even categorize as fridays worst.
Doormen like to show people their authority sometimes and just refuse people because they have the power too.
You'll find nect time you goto attend, even if your wearing the same clothes they will let you in without hassle!
Everyone has been stopped for these so called pathetic reasons, its just part of nightlife im afraid.

im a bit shocked, cos i ve been in there without going home, straight from uni to pub to promise, i was scruffy as anything... but also, the bouncer let me in, let me out, get changed and let me back in again at around midnight!

i think that the best thing that u could do concidering that u got to travel so far is to fone up each week and put urself on the payin guest list, @least that way u stand more chance at makin sure that u get in each week!!!!!!

maybe employ someone to judge what is/is not acceptable to wear into promise.

i've been to other clubs, where they have had door pickers ( crasher for example ) and they seem to get it right most of the time.

Ultimately it is a judgement call, and 'door pickers' are just as likely to get it wrong as door staff IMO. The decision to let someone in or not depends on a wide variety of things, not just clothing or how pissed the individual is. They won't always get it right. I'd go with Akira's suggestion and try to get on the paying guest list. Not sure how much difference it would make but it's always worth a try!
