Unless its a law, doctor or psychology degree, all qualifications are useless, experience is all employers are after.

but for a lot of jobs (well the ones i've been looking at) you need a degree at 2:1 or 1st to even get considered for them!

you do need experience too tho i think...

that's not true, it's only for a few anally retentive companies that give a fuck what you got in your degree... generally a 2:2 is fine (i hope  )

    Bollocks !!

Many employers have graduate schemes and I for one started in engineering with a degree and no experience.

I know Atmel (silverlink) where I work now are carrying out graduate interviews this week for a new program.

it was GP refferal, wi either nhs or private that said that to me...

2:1 is the best to go for cos i know some companies that won't take 1st cos they think they'll be cocks or something... an in most law courses its near on impossible to get a 1st anyways... (northumbria being one example)

Your talking through the hole in your arse, qualifications are a means to an interview, a process for vetting candidates.

Go on, name these companies then.

    :dunce:

i was takin the piss cos every1 else was talkin like they knew everything, when each industry, even each company within each industry is different...

but the bit about the 1st in a law course is true, well from what i've heard from my mates who do law anyways...

To get into a good law firm you need a good degree (pref. a 1st) from a top university as well as having extra curric activities - otherwise theywont even look at u.
Also, law is a bit of an old boys club and it helps if ur dad is already a lawyer, oh and its preferable if ur a boy.

It is very hard to ge in the legal profeesion - particularly if u wanna be a barrister:)
