Remove clicks and pops from a cd rip

Anyone know a good program to remove the clicks and pops you get when you rip a scratched old cd?

The music is now in mp3 format.

    Anyone???

    Ty but......

If I had to do it manually it would take days, it's a 70 min long cd which is pretty much fucked all the way through.

I need an app that can spot the noise and remove it automatically if possible (I'm sure there are apps that will do this).

TY, I'll have a search to see if I can download it.

Anyone got the mixmag classics CD 3 by Sasha & CJ Mackintosh and feel like saving me this hassle?

theres a option in soundforge i think... its for recording from vinyl and it says it reduces the noise and clicks... dunno if its anygood tho.

if its not on soundforge it;s cool edit of mebbes cubase at a push?

no idea what the name of the process that actually does it is called tho, so suppose this isn't really much help!

hmmm...cool edit is probablt the quickest way to do it. you can play around with different frequency cuts, till you get most of the noise out. I think there is a basic noise reduction function which might get rid of some of it?

No matter now, I'm gonna post it up to Lee and he's gonna have a go at it. Failing that I guess I'll have to buy the CD again :(

get yourself a copy of Steinberg's "Clean"

Its job is exactly what you are after, goes through the entire piece of music and automatically removes clicks and pops.

Works well....well I have had some good results from it.

Steinberg wavelab lets you do it pretty easy- I haven't used it for a while but it used to just have an option to remove clicks and you could just set it away...
