    Remote Applications Service/desktop anywhere

The RAS at newcastle uni is class - it means I can get e-journals off the net from any computer.

But how can I get these onto the computer I'm using it on? Surely there must be a faster way than e-mailing it to myself in 1 window, then downloading it from the e-mail to this computer in another?

    It's a bit of pain :)

is it a remote desktop window? surley just saving into my computer, and your local drives can be see, prefixed with a $ symbol.

    thats how DTA works.

did your fake insurance claims not stretch enough?

    I haven't injured myself yet ;)

The system uses cytrix metaframe to load a window up, with internet explorer/photoshop whatever in it.

When you try and and file-save something though, it just brings up your university drive which is no good, and I can't find any way to get the local drives up :(

must be a different configuration then. Northumbria's DTA lets u see your local (clients) drives as well as any network user ones u have, means u can upload and download stuff
