    Recovering Files

Ive managed to totally fuck up when upgrading from xp to xp pro. For some reason it gets to the same point in the installation then stops every time. So ive installed another copy of xp pro on another partion on my hard drive. What i need help with is getting all my stuff off the fucked xp onto the new working xp pro. Is it just a case of moving all the program files and all my documents?

find the name of your user account's folder (which was the name at the top of your start menu) and copy that folder first - it has all your favourites, anything you had on your desktop and alot of important stuff assuming you used it properly.

Thats usually my first port of call when swapping installations across - then just copy and past them into the same folders on your new installation.

You probably know all that but it might be helpful none the less :)
