Recording mixes straight onto my mac Ive always recorded my mixes using a cd recorder and then ripped the cd onto my pc/mac, though due to me knocking out roughly a mix every 1/2 months for years now the cd recorder's life span is starting to come to its natural end, to the point where the main factor in whether a recording attempt is successful or not is what mood the fucking thing is in, and whether it will just stop recording halfway through the mix or stick random track breaks in for no apparent reason What software does people use for recording straight onto a mac, something like soundforge? And anyone know where i can get any cheap/copied copies? Thanks in advance
Re: Recording mixes straight onto my mac http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/ <<<<<<< i use audacity it does the job and its free
I think soundforge is the best program available but audacity does do the job. Soundforge is allover the torrent sites
Its all about Soundforge, I cant get a torrent to work so kep downloading the trial whenever i record a mix
nah - i've just got soundforge 8 back and its top, cant whack it for either doing final cuts and edits or even just recording. spot on
Right kids, a bit more advice here please.. Ive tried recording mixes using soundtrack pro and also audacity, though because the connection from my mixer into mac is going in through the microphone input it is also picking up noise from the room (such as me on the phone during the last attempt ) Any ideas how to avoid this? Danke sehr
with audacity check your preferances the mac normally is set up as microphone input instead of just in put change that i had the same problem
Its a fucking nightmare, the first time i noticed it i was listening back and my brother came in after about 10 mins of the mix kicking off that id woke him up with the noise, fully recorded over the tracks
