any one watch the football last night really brought it home how much things have improved over here, thought beckam totally bottled the issue in his aftermatch interview

The only England player who really hit the nail on the head was Paul Robinson. Respect to him for being a proper spokesmen and summing up the majority of the nations feelings

The Bernabau is intimidating by Engalnd staying on the pitch it showed the racists fucks they could play-on through the taunts. I can see why they could've walked off but I think staying on made a bigger statement.

Kick racism out of football. Then kick the racism out of those fucks instead.

To be fair this is a serious issue and we should not be caught up in the technicalities of which forum it is posted in.

This issue spreads far wider than just the sport and can affect the actual opinions of countries as a whole :)

I thought it was an absolutle disgrace. Every time Cole or the other black guy (forgot his name, don't know much about footy!) got even close to the ball, they were chanting the monkey chant.

They should have walked off tbh, I was disgusted by that. I hope the Spanish FA get sued to high heaven.

The sickening thing is, it wasnt just a few, it was a significant portion of the crowd joining in.

Just not on, doesn't do any good for the sport :(

England match was the worst I've ever seen - I don't remember a single shot on target. Rooney showed once again that he's basically a thick-as-shit, violent charva who's had a lucky break. His conduct was shocking - especailly throwing off his black armband as he walked off - that was in memory of one of football's most respected figures you ignorant tool! And it really looked like he was drinking a bottle of beer in the dug out afterwards - anyone notice that?
However, I think the Spanish players really over-exaggerated when they were tackled - typical really.

As for the racist chanting - I think Spain should immediately have its Olympic bid discounted by the IOC, and FIFA should fine the Spanish FA heavily, and possible ban Spanish fans from World cup qualifiers. Becks should have picked up the ball and led his team off the field......on second thoughts though, would that have mattered to the Spanish 'fans' - remember they paid only 6 Euros per ticket, and they were winning by the time the abuse was at its worst.......it would have had a massive impact internationally though....

What a bunch of absolute shit.

I don't think they should have walked off - it just makes the racists think that they have won.

    I don't agree.

well there might still be private racist views but it is totally socially unacceptable to air these views IN PUBLIC.

If I stood in the crowd at The Stadium of Light and made monkey noises id be stared at, started on and pointed out to the Police. All within five minutes.

This is what needs to happen in Spain..

England may not have many of these elements left in football - but equally hooliganism is a tarnish on the UK's bid for any major sporting event... we look like the thugs of the world with our football supporters - although they behaved ok last night - but thats because it wasn't turkey...

IMO I don't think England are looked at as the worst in the world in Hooligan terms anymore, and probably haven't been since the early 90's.

Spanish football will get a bad name from this but i wonder if the pocket of fans that were making the noises were actually football fans, could very easily of been say the Spanish national front members who went along with the sole purpose of targeting black players at both the England games, tickets were very cheap and easy to get hold of, not excusing this at all but it could be a shame that spanish football fans get a bad name over this and it could have nothing to do with them , as Beckham said he has played all over Spain for Madrid and has not encountered anything like what happened last night.

Agreed - It was funny tbh, bit of light hearted banter :D

    :(

The monkey dance would have been class, totally in their face.

    Black man scores.

Crowd chants "ooh ooh ooh ooh" etc

Black man runs right up to them and does a monkey style celebration.

They would probably shutup then like!!!!

    They are the monkeys.

    Spainish football racists - :monkey:

Just making themselves look stupid
