Keep to listening to just tho one tho - depends what way you mix tho really !

I have seen DJ's with more or less every channel on when mixing and thought it to be strange cos i v.rarely use two !

    :D :D

It has little flick switches for each channel, Revel is right. Top mixer!

    very nice indeed :D

    LUSH quality like.

Was suprised, and disappointed, to see that stereo didn't have a decent CD deck....they had the pioneer cdj500 mk2, which i didnt find to be at all user friendly!!!

had a good nite tho :D

incidently, I didn't need to use more than one channel in the cans at one time....the monitor was very effective.

    rather loud like!

nurr, i didnt like the cdj500s at all.

theres no (visible) stop button, its hard to set cue points, and when you turn the jogwheel, instead of bending the pitch, it skips throuh the track, and theres no pitch bend buttons!

    wasnt impressed.

500's are different from all the others, cos they are the oldest. The jog wheels are a pain in the arse, cos they skip when you spin it alot, rather than bending the pitch, like u said...

ive got the oldest of the old cdj500s, and its easy to use. you dont need a stop button? press the cue to stop the music...

if you need to spin it that much then you need to change the pitch manually..

no, its that im used to the pitch bending when you use the jog wheel.

its not exactly easy for someone who isnt used to the deck to pick it up....when i used a cdj1000 for the first time i had no bother at all!

setting the cues on the cdj500 wasnt particularly easy either.

the slighest touch to the jogwheel made it skip.

guess its down to personal preference, but i certainly didnt like it.

what if u have pressed the cue button slightly too late/early, and u need to slow it down quite a bit/speed it up? it skips on a 500. Plus a CDJ500 is only accurate to 0.1%, which is not accurate at all, so the jog wheel is a massive part of using one. Having a jog wheel which just controlls pitch is much more accurate a small move on the wheel will be very accurate when correcting the pitch.

500's arent bad, i have used one no problems, just they are considerably different from all the other models. and having the jog wheel just controlling pitch bend is a much better design, as pioneer have come to realise...
