Trance God = PvD What a night this was. Really was a brilliant set, Ashley C played a quality warm-up, even played x press 2, smoke machine, what a tune. He played a lot harder than I thought he would, was a nice surprise. Nothing But You at the end of the night was absolutley class and I didn't want it to end
I am baffled by peoples surprise at how hard PVD was. He has always been hard, that why crasher love him. He has been playing some pure Techno in his sets over the last couple of years.
Was a quality night! Top class trance. Hard in places but not in a way. Universal Nation is such a classic. It just sounded amazing! It always does!
I assume that PVD played from midnight until 06.00? I recorded Hallam Fm from midnight until 02.00 and it was supposed to be 'live' from Gatecrasher...but it was all Ashley Casselle. I thought it sounded OK in the car, but I would have hated it in the club...a bit too funky for Gatecrasher. All this talk of Universal Ntion is convincing me that it is a good idea to go to Red & Black next week.
Casselle was a bit slow for the main room in crasher. But then again the warmup DJ's in Crasher are normally poor. Riley is terrible. The Crasher crowd love to buildup bandwagons about their warnup DJ's when really they are fuking pap! That's why I don't go down till like 11pm! What was that Jap DJ called who warmed up a couple of times last year? He was fucking quality! His name anyone?
