Quite underground with sometimes more slightly commercial DJ's such as Judge Jules and Dave Pearce playing mate.

Cause those names mean fuck all to the majority of people. They wouldn't exactly rake the £££ in either.

And how do you suppose that clubs that are losing money keep going? From the wallets of the promoters? No-one is that into the scene that they are prepared to put on nights and lose shed loads of money, just for the love of it. Unless they are completely loaded and stupid that is.

Exactly, its all about making money nowadays, the smaller local nights aer more about the music and the fun of things.

Promise is doing really well and its heading in the right direction in my opinion, you're making money(for yourself and the night), building a reputation, booking the DJ's that the majority or people want and filling the club every month.
Its a good deal I reckon.

That was back in the days when most clubbers had very little info about clubbing/DJs/genres/tune etc. Clubbers are much more knowledgeable these days & know what they want to hear, which DJs they want to see & how much they are going to pay to do this.

If you were a club promoter 6 to 7 years ago you didnt really have to do much to get the £££'s in, that is why it seems people were there for the love of music atmosphere etc because the people running clubs back then were not really doing much to to make a lot of £££'s.

Not been to Promise much (three times), but from what I hear and see at the club (and on here), it seems that the promoters listen to what people want from a night. Just don't let it get too big and go like Crasher!

    PS. When's Armin coming?;)
