Promise imposters dunno if this is old news... but there appears to be a clubnight in birmingham called promise as well... i remember this coming up ages ago... (think it was a different promise) and mark not bein happy... so thought i would show ya... there site aint up to much atm, but they are defo callin emselves promise... make of it what you will... http://www.promise-twilight.com/
oh, and if you flick to page 75 of mixmag (september 03 issue) you will find an ad there for it as well....
Surely newcastle promise (which I'm assuming was first) would have copywrited the name? Especially after all the palarva that happened a couple of years ago with nights in ibiza ripping off names of other british clubs
Yea... it's defo a copyright... i remember there bein sum palaver a while back over the same thing which (if im right) must have ended in the other club changing it's name... now this one does have 'hidden' snuck on the side, but it's still calling itself promise... wonder if thats legal? n yea, seamus is on the line ups... mind so is brandon block...
just been havin a look round the site and spotted this: Admission £10 before 12:00am £12 thereafter (last door entry 12am)
hidden is just the name of the venue like promise at foundation. the night is still called promise. naughty boys
aye but they didn't start til last august so there shouldn't really be any quarms bout who holds the rights of the name. sorry mark i know you can't comment and that there's probs a lot of legal ins and outs of the whole affair but as far as i'm concerned they shouldn't be able to offer any argument.
