a lot of work and money goes into a compilation cd... getting licenses for certain tunes that are onlee for release on certain labels.. that can onlee be mixed by certain djs and stuff... also u have to think.. will it sell. i mean yeh... we'd all buy a copy but how many nationwide wud?.. im not knocking the mixing or tune selection of rich cos hes the muttz nuttz.. its just when the masses will go into hmv.. and see 'promise - the future sound of nu_castle' and then 'ministry - another feckin compilation mixed by anyone' which one are they most likely to buy?... promise hasnt been around that long.. godskitchen onlee released there first comp last spring (i thinks thats right) so promise has a lot of time to build a bigger fan base and then release a cd.
Totally agree wiv Crasherkid. Everyone who goes would buy one, but how many copies would that be? 2000 tops? I dunno, just guessing but cant see that many selling. Also, do Promise want to go more commercial? I like the fact that no1 really knows about it. It's our little secret! Loads of ppl I met at GK hadn't even heard of Promise before, yet they said how much they loved clubbing. On the other hand, if it was mixed by Matt or Eddie (no disrespect to Richard but he's not as well known nationwide) then maybe it would sell. Would be amazing if it did happen. Perhaps on three CDs, starting wiv Tulip, then tranicer wiv Matt and ending wiv hard from Eddie. Anyway, there's my thoughts, for what they're worth!
