    PRODIGY AFTERPART Feat.. LEROY THORNHILL

For those of y'all going to see The Prodigy at the Newcastle Arena, we're holding an afterparty at the Cosmic with LEROY THORNHILL (ex prodigy and an awesome DJ in his own right).

I'll be hosting the 2nd room with some surprise guests who we'll be announcing soon.

It's also not too much of a stretch of the imagination to assume that Keef, Maxim and Liam will be popping in to see Leroy, as well as there being a possible appearance by a certain vertiginous Rascall.

This should be a the perfect way to carry on the party after the gig.

    PRODIGY AFTERPARTY
    10 - 4am @ The Cosmic Ballroom,
    Featuring...
    LEROY THORNHILL (Ex-Prodigy)
    Geoff Leopard,
    plus Guests TBA

aye, but the whole nature of the post is in trying to tempt people there on the basis that liam, keith and maxim will be there.

at the end of the day they might well be or at least 1 of them may be etc...altho unlikely ....
but seriosuly I will never ever again give any money to the cosmic ballroom whilst I walk the earth

    Ooooooooooooookay

    Few things m'man...

This isn't my gig, but I've offered to play as a lot of my best friends from my age group, who now all have grown up jobs, are going to the gig and I'd like to have somewhere to party with them after.

I can quite imagine that a lot of people will want to keep on partying after the 11 o'clock finish at the arena, so I can't see any harm in someone deciding to do an afterparty.

The promoter who is putting this on has already had Leroy play for him within the last 12 months (when the Prodigy weren't playing in Newcastle) and Leroy has been asking to come back and play for him since.

Call me kkkkerazy but, seeing as the party is being held for Prodigy fans, it would seem to make perfect sense to book the ex-prodigy member who you have a working relationship with to play there.

The statement regarding the Prodigy possibly being their is born from my own experience last time they played in Newcastle, where they turned up at Lovedough at Digital (an RnB & Chart Hip Hop night for those not cognescent with it), where they decided to stay for the entire evening (albeit in a little roped of bit).

I might have not made myself clear, but what i meant to say was that it's not too much of a stretch of the imagination to assume that Keef, Maxim and Liam will be popping in to see Leroy.

Oh, wait there... thats actually what I said.

If they're willing to show up to listen to Tynchy Stryder, then in my opinion they're quite possibly going to consider turning up to see a mate play rekids (or cd's as it may well possibly be).

However, can I also say that if anyone is specifically turning up because they're expecting to see them, then they should have their head examined in my opinion.

Personally, I'd imagine people will turn up with no other agenda than to
    A) Carry on their evening.
    B) Listen to an ex member of a band that they're at least big enough fans of to have just paid money to see.

I would imagine that if they do get to see some the current members of the band then they'll most likely regard it as a lovely bonus.

I can't decide whether the suggestion that it's being marketed SOLELY on the strength of a possible (non-performing visit) of the prodigy is an insult to Leroy as a DJ, an insult to the promoter for thinking an afterparty in itself is a good idea, an insult to me by thinking I'd take the people on this forum as vapid enough to be solely tempted by that, or an insult to the people on this forum in assuming that they would be.

its good to see I aint lost any of my baiting skillz

whichever way you look at it, sticking leroy thornhill on the same night as the prodigy is clearly an orchestrated move to pack as many as possible people into the venue:

aye , fair enough they (if its rub a dub dub lot) have had leroy on before, but am i right in thinking these are the same promoters who booked grooverider on ridiculous sums of money as soon as he was released from prison even though he was supposed to be playing for turbulence

    :wink::wink::wink:

ps: I would love to think the band will be there: I would love nothing better than to shout at keith again "i want to see some manic body velocity movements" (mayfair 94) but at the same time i steadfastly refuse to ever spend money ever again in the cosmic ballroom (but thats a whole different story).

You never have anything constructive to say unless it's about that scally fest that you run.

trying to coin it off the back off * 'REAL' prodigy fans

(*not the people who got into them after firestarter hit number 1)

what is fact tho is that cosmic ballroom management = muppets of the highest order

that aint directed at mr leotard / leopard by the way cos he is one of the few involved with that place that knows what he is doing

I think you'll find I said that the new prodigy album is good in places and average in places: is that not constructive

    problem with this board is

    (a) it takes itself far too seriously and

    (b) no one can ever take any kind of criticism

i think the cosmic ballroom are greedy sharks and leroy being booked to play cosmic is about as innovative as digital putting lashes on for the millionth time

whats wrong with having that opinion: just because it doesnt match with yours it doesnt mean it aint valid.

NOW a free after party : i would have lots of respect for that
